Winery Category: Wineries
Silvio Tony Ciccone started out making wine at home from grapes grown in his Rochester Hills backyard, as his father had before him back in Pennsylvania. He and wife Joan acquired land for their Leelanau County vineyard with its panoramic views of West Grand Traverse Bay and the rolling hills of Leelanau in 1995. The following spring, the first 5 acres were planted by hand, with the winery now featuring Pinot Grigio, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Franc, Dolcetto, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot — in all, 14 varieties are offered in the tasting room — all estate grown. Also featuring: summer “Evenings in the Pergola” music and food events, barn rentals, weddings and Wine Club.
