Mocktails to Try at Home

These nonalcoholic drinks from Black Star Farms will satisfy your thirst.

As many American adults cut down on drinking and wineries ramp up family-friendly activities, nonalcoholic options have become more popular around the country — including in Michigan. Local wineries have found a variety of ways to offer NA drinks to visitors.

Here are a few of Black Star Farms’ most popular nonalcoholic cocktails, courtesy of the winery.

Triple Berry Mule

0.75 ounce triple berry syrup
1 quarter whole lime

Add to ice-packed pint glass and top with ginger beer.

Triple Berry Syrup

2 cups water
2 cups sugar
1 cup frozen triple berry mix

Heat ingredients to almost a boil. Simmer 30 minutes. Cool and filter.

Apple Ginger Fizz

1 tablespoon apple butter
Sprinkle of cinnamon/clove/nutmeg mix

Add to shaker along with a little Vernors. Shake well. Strain into rocks glass half-filled with ice. Top with Vernors.

Basil Berry Mocktail

3 ounces cranberry juice
1 ounce basil simple syrup
0.5 ounce lime juice

Add all ingredients to a shaker. Shake well. Strain into an ice-packed Collins glass.

Basil Simple Syrup

2 cups water
2 cups sugar
8-10 fresh basil leaves

Heat to almost a boil. Simmer 45 minutes at low heat. Cool and filter.
