The #MichiganWineMonthChallenge raised more than $10,000 to help laid-off hospitality workers in Michigan.

About a dozen Michigan wineries offered 15 winery gift packages for bid during the Month of May. The public could make $10 bids, as many times as they wanted, on each item.

The $10,380 generated from the #MichiganWineMonthChallenge is going to The Michigan Hospitality Industry Employee Relief Fund, created by the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association (MRLA) to provide grants to the state’s hospitality employees whose livelihoods have been affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. The Challenge was sponsored by the Michigan Wine Collaborative.

The winners will be drawn at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the MRLA office in Lansing.
