Michigan wine enthusiasts will want to mark their calendars for June 27, because the Michigan Wine Festival is taking over the Michigan Firehouse Museum in Ypsilanti.
Joining the Michigan Firehouse Museum in hosting and organizing this festival are the Michigan Wine Collaborative and Taste Michigan.
“This collaboration with the Michigan Firehouse Museum allows us to bring Michigan wine directly into the community while celebrating the incredible work of wineries across the state as well as the outstanding work community nonprofits are doing independently and together,” said Emily Dockery, executive director of the Michigan Wine Collaborative. “Events like this not only create memorable experiences for consumers but also strengthen connections between wineries, restaurants, retailers, and wine lovers.”
The festival is part of a series of events by Taste Michigan taking place in southeast Michigan in June. Among those events is Taste Michigan Invades Eastern Market on June 21 in Detroit.
What Attendees Can Expect at the Michigan Wine Festival
The Michigan Wine Festival will feature 12 Michigan wineries from multiple wine regions in the state. These wineries will be dispersed throughout the Michigan Firehouse Museum space, which spans three floors and 26,000 square feet. Additionally, a local distiller and craft brewery will be on-site, as well as various food and craft vendors. The festival will also feature live music.
As of publishing, early-bird admission tickets are available for $49.70. (Special early-bird admission tickets for designated drivers are also available for $22.94.) Included with each ticket is a custom souvenir glass and 10 tastings of your choosing. Additional tastings will be available for purchase on the day of the festival for $3 per tasting.
