The Inn at Black Star Farms and two Michigan wine regions are up for USA Today 2020 Readers’ Choice awards.

In contention to be named Best Wine Country Hotel, the family-owned 160-acre Black Star Farms estate is located in Suttons Bay near Traverse City. Nestled below a hillside vineyard and overlooking barns and pastures, the boutique inn features 10 rooms and separate gathering spaces. The inn offers gourmet breakfast service and a nightly hospitality hour. Guests can enjoy miles of on-site hiking trails through forest, orchards and vineyards, along with optional services such as bike rentals. Located on the Leelanau Peninsula, the inn is near beaches, other wineries, sand dunes and small resort towns.

Black Star Farms was in first place in voting as of July 15. Voting will close Aug. 10 at noon.

Michigan wine regions in the top 20 during voting for USA Today Readers’ Choice 2020 Best Wine Region include Old Mission Peninsula and the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail.

Old Mission Peninsula near Traverse City in northwestern Lower Michigan with its 19,200 acres of vineyards was in ninth place as of July 15. Southwest Michigan’s Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail with 10,000 acres of grapes was at 18th.

Voting ends on Aug. 12 at noon.
