Michigan wineries are gearing up for a new season. Michigan Wine Month will kick it off in May.
The Michigan Wine Collaborative (MWC) is spearheading the initiative with a theme of “Michigan Wine Wins.” Michigan Wine Month shines a spotlight on the economic impact of the state’s industry — $5.4 billion between farming, manufacturing, jobs and the tax base, according to MWC. The goal is to educate wine consumers across Michigan and beyond, and to promote Michigan wines through winery and tasting room visits, online and retail sales, wine club participation, Michigan Wine Collaborative membership and other means of support.
With a COVID-19 stay-at-home order currently in place across the state, participating wineries continue to utilize remote sales and virtual event options in innovative ways to connect wineries and customers until restrictions are eased.
